The Social Economy, the Future of Europe
Within the scope of the European Commission’s Action Plan for the Social Economy, the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union is the ideal time to give a strong impetus to the development of this sector in the European Union.
Representing up to 10% of GDP in certain EU countries such as France, Spain and Italy, it represents a future response to today's climatic and social challenges, and as such, has been identified by the European Commission as one of the 14 industrial ecosystems that can strengthen Europe's resilience.
European Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights Nicolas Schmit and Minister of State for the Social, Solidarity and Responsible Economy Olivia Grégoire will discuss the European Commission’s first action plan for the social and solidarity economy with social entrepreneurs. The Conference will then bring together in Paris the ministers covering the field of social economy in the Member States to discuss best practices and concrete solutions to promote and develop social economy within the internal market
