Climate action requires a wide range of solutions. Finance has its full role to play. In the context of the first London Climate Action Week, Jean-Pierre Jouyet, Ambassador of France to the UK, is delighted to host a morning session on green finance to reflect on the current trend and to share France’s experiences. This event will be the occasion to learn more and engage with high-level institutional stakeholders, investors, financial institutions and non-governmental organizations.

France was the first country to issue a sovereign green bond in January 2017. France demonstrated political and private-sector commitment to ensuring a sustainable transition to carbon neutrality by 2050. The involvement of the financial sector in tackling climate risks is key to reaching this target. France has shown its leadership in promoting green finance products both to investors and companies. There is still room for improvement and ambitious measures.
